Poland's two parties decide to form govt. coalition

WARSAW (Xinhua) -- Poland's October parliamentary winner The National Council of the Civic Platform (PO) decided on Saturday to form a government coalition with Polish Peasant Party (PSL).

""The National Council unanimously made a decision to form a government coalition with PSL,"" Poland's Prime Minister designate Donald Tusk said following the meeting.
Later in the same day, PSL National Council also decided to form a government coalition with PO, Polish PAP news agency reported.
PSL leader Waldemar Pawlak told reporters that his party wants the coalition cooperation to be based on the ""striving for compromise in the spirit of mutual trust.""
PO has 209 seats in the sejm ,or lower house of the Parliament. Together with the PSL, the coalition holds 240 out of a total 460 seats.
